Florida gives new life policyholders a free-look period of at least 14 days, longer than the 10-day minimum found in many states. Policies also have a 30-day grace period for overdue premiums. Florida’s guaranty association, FLAHIGA, is a private nonprofit funded by member insurers. Every licensed life and health insurer in the state must join it.
